SUMMARY

AWARENESS

  • Awareness is a key attribute and a key characteristic in life.
  • Self-awareness is most important.
    • Most people don’t know who they are, how they’re hardwired,  why they’re hardwired that way, or what their character flaws are.
  • Awareness means ‘to have your antenna up’ –
    • To be able to perceive at a high level; be aware of what’s going on around you.
  • The mind is programmed to generate awareness.
    • It can be used to propel you toward your dreams and goals.
    • Focus on something; all you have to do is start thinking about it!
  • Awareness is the first step to creating the thought that creates the action
  • After becoming self-aware, you can be aware of others.
    • This is necessary to build, or even repair, relationships in your life.
  • Practice your awareness by making the decision to be aware.
    • Cut out a picture of it.   Visit it.   Talk about it.

Hi. Today we’re going to talk about awareness. Awareness is one of those key attributes and key characteristics in life, but it’s especially key in E5 Leadership Academy. You can be self-aware. You can be aware of others. You can be aware of your surroundings. You can be aware of so many different areas in life because awareness is one the senses. It comes from your ears, it comes from your eyes and your sense of smell and your touch. All these things create awareness.

It’s important for us, first of all, to have self-awareness. So many people in the world don’t know who they are, don’t know how they’re hardwired, don’t know why they’re hardwired the way they are, and don’t know, sometimes, what their character flaws are. We all have them. We all have challenges we go through in life. We all have goals we’re trying to reach and meet and dreams that we want to live.

We need awareness. Another way to say “awareness,” to me, is have your antenna up. Have you perceptions at a high level. Be aware of what’s going on around you. If you have a wish, want, need, or desire, and you want that wish, want, need, or desire to come to fruition and become a reality, create some awareness around it.

For example, if you know that you want to have, let’s say, a boat, you go to the boat show and look at boats. You have a high level of awareness. You want a car? You go to the car show and you look at cars. You have a high level of awareness.

Have you ever noticed that when you buy a car, within a day all you do is see that car everywhere? Everybody is driving one, and you thought you were the only one. That’s a keen amount of awareness of your surroundings and things around you.

The mind is programmed, if you use it properly, to generate awareness, and it can be used for good to propel you further to your dreams and goals. If you want to focus on something and you focus on yourself to become the best version of you that you can be – you want to grow personally, you want to grow professionally – and you become aware of your surroundings and how your surroundings can help aid you and come to your aid to help you grow personally and professionally, all you have to do is start thinking about it.

Awareness is the first step to creating the thought that creates the action. By becoming alert to your awareness level… You just practice for it a week, and you give me an e-mail and let me know how it’s working for you. When you become aware of a want, need, or desire, or a dream, and you start to focus on it, the world as we know it even steps aside or even comes to your aid to allow you to achieve your aim or your goal. That’s just by being aware.

Another sort of awareness that is important to me that I like to teach people about when I’m mentoring with them one-on-one is the awareness of others. So oftentimes we get so caught up in our own world that we’re not self-aware, and if you’re not self-aware, you cannot be aware of others. You can’t have one without the other, and it starts with self-awareness.

If you want to be aware of others and you want to build relationships in your life or even repair relationships in your life, you become self-aware, and it gives you the power to be aware of others and what’s going on around you.

So oftentimes the people in our lives will give us the clues and they’ll give us the indications. If we’re aware and our perceptions are up, we’ll be able to hear those clues, we’ll be able to receive those indications and respond to them accordingly.

I’d like you to practice your awareness just by making the decision to be aware. If there’s something you want to achieve in life, cut out a picture of it and dwell on it. Visit it. Talk about it on a daily basis. You don’t have to necessarily talk to other people; just say it out loud to yourself and see if that awareness doesn’t bring about change in your life, it doesn’t bring about an action item in your life, it doesn’t help you to further your dreams and goals to live in the maximum potential that I believe God created you to live in.

Hey, thanks for listening again. It’s always great to be with you. I’ll talk to you soon.
