Is your body keeping up with your rise towards success?

We all have that one thing in life that seems to get the short end of the stick.

We have 24 hours to fit in healthy choices every day. Inevitably, doesn’t at least one thing seem to be put on the backburner?

I’m going to get personal here. For me, that one thing is my physical well-being. I really have to work hard at it. It seems like it is always the one thing that gets pushed aside for everything else. I also know it’s that one thing that I can’t ignore.

Can you relate?

Many of you can’t get through a day without a run or a workout without feeling blah. Whether you can relate to the struggles on the physical end of health or not, whether you drag yourself to the gym or not, we all know that physical investment in ourselves is huge.

It’s huge because, yes, we want to live long, active lives. We can’t miss the obvious reality that our physical health is vital to our overall well-being.

An investment in your physical well-being is an investment in your overall health spiritually, emotionally, mentally and financially. Physical health, in itself, extends a great dose of positive momentum throughout so many areas of your life.

What is that positive momentum worth to you? To others? How does your health affect the lives of your loved ones?

For me, thinking about how much my family counts on me to be healthy and thriving is enough impetus to make the positive physical choices daily.

I want you to think for a minute: who counts on you for inspiration, knowledge and support? Who are you indispensable to? How does your health, or lack thereof, affect those around you?

Being serious about investing in your physical health gives you the added clarity, stamina and confidence to add value to the people who are counting on you.

By functioning at your best, you’re being a brighter beacon. Not only do you have the energy to fulfill your own personal needs but you have the energy to give to others! You’re able to be a positive light in their lives and live the leadership you were designed for!

As a leader, when you invest in yourself, you invest in another.

Here are a few reasons why physical health is such an important factor in success:

#1 Action begets action. Added stamina will help you extend greater positive influence into the world.

#2 At your best. Physical well-being will raise your confidence levels and improve your thinking which will help you capitalize on opportunities both relationally and creatively.

#3 Enjoy the fruits. Physical well-being will extend your life allowing you to enjoy the fruits of your life’s success.

So how can you improve your physical well-being in order to improve your overall success in all areas of life? Here’s a list you can look at to measure and renew your outlook on physical health and propel you towards success:

Better Sleep: Be mindful of how your inputs affecting your sleep. Your subconscious multiplies the inputs you experience during the day and makes them more intense during sleep. Negative inputs will make for a restless sleep.

Vitamins: Meet with a nutritionist and start taking the right mix of supplements. Empower an expert to help you get on the right path.

Diet: Research how food and drinks affect you, both generally and personally. There may be foods you are eating that cause you discomfort or fatigue or may have some other negative effects on your body. Choose healthy approaches and be open to positive change.

Exercise: Invest in a personal trainer or coach – let people who have the expertise and passion propel you into a great habit. Would you rather workout 24 minutes a day or be dead 24 hours a day? Easy choice.

Hygiene: Being clean and fresh will give you more self-assurance, help you think more confidently and help you battle through cold and flu seasons with more success.

Wardrobe: Dressing for success helps you feel better about yourself and will increase your self-image and confidence.

Body Language: Great eye contact, voice tone and control, posture, smiles and overall positivity will speak confidence and courage into you.

Doctor Visits: Putting off potential health challenges will only increase imbalance in your life and cause you to fear the unknown.

Growing positively in any of these areas will begin adding to your confidence, your physical well-being and your thinking. Begin today to make movements in a positive direction. Even if they are small, they are still victories that will help propel you into a good direction.

“Action is a great restorer and builder of confidence. Inaction is not only the result but the cause of fear. Perhaps the action you take will be successful; perhaps different action or adjustments will have to follow. But any action is better than no action at all.”
~Norman Vincent Peale
